Eligibility Information
General:
To be eligible for an Operation Life Transformed Scholarship you
- Must be a Military Spouse (married) to an active duty member, retired or veteran of any branch of the military, Army, Navy, and Air force, Marines, National Guard or Reserve.
Or
- A Primary caregiver to a wounded soldier
Caregiver Specifics: A "primary" Caregiver can be any member of the family not limited to a spouse. The list includes, mother, father, grandparent, brother, sister, aunt or uncle.
Or
- Veteran of the armed forces
Scholarship Limitations:
- One scholarship application and award per family
Special Scholarship Programs:
You may be eligible for one of the following program categories
- Spouse of Purple Heart Recipients
- Native American Indian Spouse or Primary Caregiver
- Stationed in the state of Virginia, transitioning to or retiring to the state of Virginia
Eligibility and Applicant Process:
- Request Application Package
- Application Request Package sent to applicant by OLT
- Application package completed by applicant and sent back to OLT
- OLT confirms application process & all paperwork received
- Applicant's Name added to waiting list for award/scholarship
- Applicant informed of award date in order of receipt and funds become available
Exception:
The only exception to the rule of the waiting list process is if you are
- A spouse or primary caregiver to a Purple Heart Recipient, these scholarships have an immediate availability
- If you have relocated and lost your job
- If you are low income
- If you are a spouse and disabled
